The homeowner did a meticulous and wonderful job renovating this old historic home in Salem. Marblehead Design had the privilege to work with her and design this beautiful kitchen built by Elmwood. Design includes lift-up door to hide the microwave and a disappearing vent nested inside a wall cabinet. Cabinets are stacked to a 120″ ceiling. To get the height we stacked cabinets and added trim to hide the seam at 96″ Beautifully built by Elmwood and a perfect installation by our carpenters at Perfect Property.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The first floor was taken down to the studs and opened to be one room. The sink from the side wall and is not the center of attention under the bay window, The cabinets are rustic alder in a dark stain to match the 300 year old beams. The cabinets built by Elmwood are made with Obeche, which is a wood from Africa frequently used to build racing boats. How perfect in a Marblehead Kitchen! . It has an interesting texture a bit different from the grain of our New England wood. The shelves are white oak, rift cut stained a ceruse. Tile is Ape artisan white. The vent is a pullout visor and hidden in the cabinet. The microwave us behind a lift up door left of the sink. Designed and installed by Marblehead Design.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
